Researching your family
As the family research blog is getting quite long, with requests for help, I have now added an index to the SURNAMES OF FAMILIES being researched by visitors to this page. You will find this under Family History Research.
It is good to see that through this page contacts are being made with fellow researchers. If you would like direct contact I am happy to pass on email addresses if both parties are agreeable – but please if you find anything interesting on village families please do post it to the blog or back to me.
If anyone is researching the Knipe family I have a researcher who would like to be in contact with you. please contact me via contact form.

Regarding the Harwood family history. George and Catherine Harwood’s children were baptised in London, England: John 2 Aug 1622, Elizabeth 16 Apr 1624, Joshua 6 Sep 1625, George 23 Dec 1627, Elizabeth 16 Apr 1629 (may be a mis-transcription) William 21 Oct 1630, Thomas 18 Jul 1632. Source https://www.familysearch.org/en/. These dates are about 20-30 years later than are given (unsourced) in most online family trees and do not correlate with accounts of purported sons e.g. William and Thomas being in America c1619 or 1620. The William Harwood who emigrated to Virginia circa 1620 was not the son of George & Catherine. George was baptised in Thurlby 23 Apr 1582 of Wylly (or Wyllm) Harwood. But the William who emigrated to Virginia 1620 may not have originated in Thurlby.
Hi Stephanie
Many thanks for your email. I have sent it to the person in America who has ties with Thurlby due to the Harwood family and did the research as I would like to get her response to be able to post with your comments. I hope you find that acceptable. Kind regards
Mary
