In his time as Vicar of Thurlby the Rev. W.G. Summers did an enormous amount of research on St Firmin’s Church and the village of Thurlby. They are not always easy to read but I intend to photograph and post on the website as many relevant pages as I can.
Below you will see the index to his researches. Some of the pages are attached to other pages on the website i.e. Trollope and Directories.
I am looking into my Ward family history especially for my children who are growing up here in the United States. My family were owners of Thurlby Manor until about 1978. Many of my relatives are buried in St. Firmins churchyard and I would love to get more information on when my grandfather was buried there. I believe his name was Harold Ward . Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂 Thanks you.
Hi Richard
I have sent you a link to a family tree for Ward that I had started,Peter Alec Ward was a person I was researching from for our WW2 Roll of Honour. I hope this helps. I have opened it so you can add to it if you wish, as I understand the sharing you do not have to have a subscription to Ancestry to do this. Let me know how you get on with this share. Best wishes, Mary
